How did you go about raising money to reach your personal target?

Initially, I asked our CEO for $500.00 & he responded with "no, how about $5000.00!" This was fantastic and a great motivator. This was the platform for me to pursue further donations.

I decided to utilise the 80/20 rule and simply asked for greater amounts from as few donators as possible given that my time frame was limited. It was easy!!

I simply targeted large companies and communicated what I was doing (cycling 90km), why I was doing it (to help people with MS) and my fundraising goal, then I personally asked them for their support and contribution.

How easy and rewarding did you find making the effort to fundraise?

This was the first time I had raised funds for anything and it was very rewarding and personally satisfying. By asking companies to donate larger amounts was easier than I expected. If you don't ask, you don't get. Most companies are happy to assist.

Why do you support people with MS - do you know much about it?

We have a colleague with MS and so I understand the need to do all we can to take this monster head on!

How did you enjoy the Gong Ride?

The 90km ride was a challenge, just as MS is to those who suffer from it. I met alot of people and had a great day knowing so many people were supporting such a worthwhile cause.

Coming back in 2007?

I'd not miss it for the world!
