A number of people in the team, including myself know someone who is living with MS.
A base of personal sponsors backed up by putting the hard word on our subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
We created a bit of competition between each of the team members by regularly posting everyone’s individual tally on at least a weekly basis.
We also invited some of the contractors and clients to ride with us on the day and kitted them out as part of our team, we also made sure they came to the party with significant sponsorship from their own companies.
It couldn’t have been easier! We created a hit list of likely donors and then called or emailed them. The sponsorship web link meant we could follow up the initial contact quickly which usually meant we achieved a contribution in each case.
Seeing the wide number of sponsors who were willing to donate and watching the tally grow gave the team a great sense of pride as we were supporting a worthwhile cause.
Everyone finished (it didn’t matter when) and we had a great day out especially as the weather steadily improved!
The team site at the finish was a great idea. It gave everyone a place to congregate, unwind and swap ride stories as well as making it easy for family and friends to meet up with the group.
Absolutely! It’s the best organised event I have ever been a part of (charity or otherwise). The MS team make it really easy to put the whole package together – everything from the entries, to sponsorship collection, team sites, catering and even team kits.
