
Base Managers:will oversee an entire base. This involves managing the volunteers assigned to the base and liaising with the set up manager to ensure that all the equipment is set up on time. Coordinators will oversee a team of volunteers to run a specific area on the larger bases such as registration and check in.
Base Coordinators: will support the base managers and both must be comfortable with managing people and solving problems.
Base Volunteers: work on one of the bases and rest stops along the course. Duties range from water and food assistants to registration, enter on the day, information and sales. You will work in a team and be overseen by a base coordinator.
Sector Manager: will oversee an entire sector. As a sector manager, you will manage volunteers who are assigned as route marshals within your sector. You must be comfortable with managing people and solving problems.
Route Marshals: support participants by directing them along the course, advising them of approaching hazards, assisting police with traffic control where necessary and forming a communications network. A sector manager will oversee your area and make sure you are comfortable in your role.
Equipment crew: will be required to help set up their allocated base. This includes erecting marquees, tents etc. If you are available, you may be required to assist in the loading and unloading of equipment trucks and setting up the equipment at the major bases on the Saturday before the event. This is a very active job and the work is physically demanding.
Signage crew: will be required to erect and pull down signs along the course.
