MS Australia response to ABC Ramp Up piece

26 June 2014

Here is a link to an opinion piece posted on ABC's Ramp Up today.

In reply, MS Australia CEO Debra Cerasa said...

"MS Australia and our state member organisations are proud to work with and for the MS community in Australia.

"We celebrate the diversity of people with MS, their carers and loved ones and above all certainly respect their views, aspirations and goals.

"Primarily our role is to work nationally in advocacy and communications on behalf of our state member organisations who in turn, work tirelessly to help raise funds to support research and provide services for people affected by MS across the country.

"There are many avenues through which we endeavour to empower people with MS to have their say and be heard including the National Advocates Program and by seeking consultation and input to Federal submissions.

"There are also some times MS Australia offers a perspective as a national peak body and where appropriate, we do so using evidence-based research.

"The views and perspectives of people with MS are what drives us and we are always open to hearing from you."
