This website is based on a publication called the MS Research in Australia: Resource Landscape Report, published in 2015 by MS Research Australia.
The MS Research in Australia: Resource Landscape Report was envisaged as a resource for key research enablers and researchers to reduce the fragmentation of knowledge of the resources available to MS researchers in Australia, and to highlight the gaps for future resource development. The report is based on an internal analysis of MS Research Australia data on the Australian MS research community and a survey of MS researchers.
The report was created with generous support from the Macquarie Group Foundation.
From analysis of the MS researcher network in Australia, there are several key features that define the MS research community and have played an important role in the success of Australian MS researchers to date.
As a nation-wide cohort, MS researchers are geographically widespread, have multidisciplinary research interests and a wide range of skills. AÂ large proportion of the community comprises established mid-career or senior academics as well as clinician researchers. Research goals revolve around key themes for understanding MS, improving the lives of individuals living with the disease, preventing MS onset and progression, and reversing MS-related damage.
